“King Lines” Film Review

Last year, at the Banff Mountain Film Festival, the film that won the Best Film on Climbing award was King Lines. This was a documentary about climber, Chris Sharma, and his journey to find the best climbing lines in the world.
The Banff audience loved it. But, except for a little about Chris Sharma’s desire to overcome obstacles to inspire other people, it didn’t have much of a message.
I think a rock climbing video that was exciting, and that documented men and women who wanted to overcome obstacles to inspire Christian faith in people – that would be cool.
I’d really like to hear Christians explain why they believe it’s safe and responsible to climb El Capitan – and why they think this glorifies God. Chris Sharma can say he just does it for the adrenaline, but I want to hear something deeper than that.
